Kindle Fire by Amazon is simply the best device ever. Why? Well for starters the technology that Amazon built into it took everything that was best in class and then added some of it’s own features like cloud assist from it’s new Silk browser, added a little magic and fairy dust, and popped out a device that sells for $300 less than the competition. Considering that the competition (namely Apple iPad 2) is a $500 device, $300 is whole crap load of savings.
It’s a no brainer. How much better, bigger, larger does a device have to be to warrant a price tag 2.5 times the Kindle Fire? Anyone with an iPad (a cool device, to be sure) knows how hard they are to hold. I shit you not, on launch weekend a couple years ago, I like many others went down to Best Buy to see the things, cause it was hyped so bad. Well after waiting in line, I finally got my turn to hold the little over hype iPad. Maybe I was nervous after all the hype, but when I grabbed it I instinctively wanted to hold it like a phone on the edges like a phone, which you can’t. So as it was precariously balanced on my hand I started to type. Well I fumbled it, and it gloriously fell on the table, earning me groans from the other 250 Apple fan boys/girls behind me. My girlfriend at the time did one of those soup nazi moves and moved over a few feet after shooting me stink eye.
So when you spend $500 for your iPad and drop it in a puddle and break the silly thing, don’t blame me. For $300 less you could have had an Amazon Kindle Fire, and you’ll still cry if you break it, but you have 2.5 times to get it right and not break it. If the ipad 2 was any better and you don’t care about money, then normally I’d cut you a break. As a friend of mine always says, “nobody ever regretted buying the best”. Well in this case, the most expensive is not the best. The Kindle Fire blows apple away on every spec. I won’t go into all the gory details in this post, but trust me, the Amazon Kindle Fire beat the Apple iPad 2 at every turn. And if you pick out one feature where you think the iPad has an advantage and believe it, you are not doing your research. Amazon built into the Fire everything that made sense from an overall perspective. In my mind every feature beats apple. About the only thing you can say is that “but it’s an Apple” earning you my scorn for being another mindless apple fan boy/girl. Apple products are cool, but if you pay $300 more for an inferior product because it’s made by Apple, you are simply a moron. Case closed. You can see more about the Kindle Fire by Amazon here. It’s a great video that illustrates the features of the Kindle Fire as compared to the iPad 2 feature by feature. it’s has some graphic language though, so if your little Apple fan ears are sensitive, don’t blame me. Kindle Fire.
